When:Monday January 31, 2011
Where:The Bell House
149 7th Street
Head on out to The Bell House today for the 2011 Brooklyn BeardFest and Stache Bash. By members of Storybook Burlesque, featuring: Magdalena Fox, Victoria Privates, and Jenny C’est Quoi with mustacio’d stage kitten Rosey la Rouge.
Finally – a festival for bearded and mustached people and the people who love them! Come celebrate all things beard with us on Monday January 31st as we prepare to enter “Facial Hair February” with beardy bands, mustached DJs, vendors, contests, food and more.
As the night gets later and we near Facial Hair February we will gather all beards and mustaches together for one giant commemorative photo in the front lounge (around 10:15, immediately following the Los Encantados set). Those graced with facial hair can also sign up at any point in the night to have their portraits taken by Heather Johnson for an upcoming facial hair themed project.
The ladies of The Parlour Brooklyn will be set up in our box office hallway offering a Men’s Special: a beard and mustache trim, neck clean up and hot towel to finish. Famed beard-lover Kari Ferrell will be on-hand to assist with contests, Robicelli’s will be selling themed cupcakes, Nachos NY and Kitchen 125 will be selling special Macho Nachos and Macho-Nacho-related gear, Pink Baby Mouse will be selling handmade 70s Sensitive Centaur and Jewish Gentleman pillows, Maro Designs will be selling mustaches and beards of all shapes and sizes in handy “on a stick” form for anyone who doesn’t already have one, Christine Domanic will be selling her rare and hard to find wooden mustache necklaces and beard comb necklaces, Hot & Salty will have beard and mustache themed jewelry, Clark & Bettie will have beard bowties and pillows for sale, and everyone’s favorite store for all things fun; Fred Flare will even have a pop-up shop with mustache-themed wares and more!!
Or just sit back and take in all of the beardy sights and sounds via DJ Russ and DJ Choyce Hacks in the front lounge and Selector F Yes before, between, and after performances in the back.
