3rd Ward turns 4 this May. To celebrate we’re flooding our space, inside and out, with live music, BBQ, summer drinks, art, crafts, screen-printing (bring your own tees!), free workshops and synchronized biking!

Live music from Pink Noise, Stumblebum Brass Band, Hank & Cupcakes, Naked Hearts, DJ Drew Heffron, DJ Sirlinda and more!

Food from Goods – a new food joint by none other than the folks at 3rd Ward. For our birthday they’ll take the food from the vintage trailer on Metropolitan & Lorimer to our backyard!

Plus, this marks the first anniversary of our Free Bikes program. Local bike organizations will join us with treats, tune ups and competitions.

Featuring:

3rd Ward Education Program
Free Demos and workshops with the teachers at 3rd Ward: silversmithing, DIY bookbinding, working with reclaimed lumber, interactive sculpture, SketchUp & Rhino for furniture design, welding and graphic design.

Bushwick Mobile // Synchronized Cycling
Yes it’s just what you think it is; DANCE ON BIKES! Come check out Lia McPherson & Co. as they show you just what happens when dancers get their hands on BMX bikes.

Moviehouse
For the month of May, Moviehouse strays from it’s regular schedule to join the party! Instead of screening shorts, they split the screen in four and assigned sections to four uniquely talented VJs: Sketch Projector Shantell Martin, Daniel Hai, Holly Danger and Shinje Murakami. Watch as each artist visually interprets live music from four different performers, side-by-side on the same screen. It’s sure to blow your mind.

The Band of Bicycles
The Band of Bicycles will be on hand with their bicycle-powered sound system, bike blenders, libations, song and other ingenious inventions
