Moviehouse presents CinemaParque, a series of six screenings projected on the handball courts of Sternberg Park in East Williamsburg. Both sides of the handball wall feature remarkable Spanish-language shorts, videos and documentaries (complete with sub-titles.) Following each screening the audience participates in an enriching and lively conversation with the talented filmmakers and curators.

Tonight’s performance includes a rockumentary film featuring the recent local South-American underground rock, pop, and punk scene in the context of the 6th Edition of the outdoor Music Festival of Ambato-Ecuador. We’ll preview live performances by Tanque, Sudakaya, Nepentes, Space Bees, Can Can, among other electric power mixes from the musicians who you might know or must know. There will also be a selection of music videos picked from the collection of the DVD’s Dogma Collective compilate with their magazine publication.

CinemaParque is presented in partnership with New Children/ New York, a youth program that uses filmmaking to explore the experience of growing up as a Latino immigrant in New York City Moviehouse will feature works by the young filmmakers followed by a moderated discussion. The final screening will be sponsored by the Dance Film Association and include live music, silent film and professional dancing.
