135 2nd Avenue, New York, NY, USA

Event Description

Starring Ava Gardner, this fantasy comedy and musical follows the capers of a statue of Venus from a store window display brought to life. The window dresser in charge of the display, having kissed the statue on a whim, accidentally brings her to life, setting off a chain of increasingly wild escapades, casting a love spell on all who cross her path. As reviewed by Variety, Gardner’s performance is “bountifully physical and alluring, delivered with a delightfully sly instinct for comedy.”

The film will begin promptly at 1:30 on the second floor of the library. Seating is first come, first served.

October 5, 2016 To October 12, 2016

7:00 am To 12:00 pm

On Wednesday, October 5, NYC will be transforming into Stars Hollow for an entire week.  Living like Lorelai and Rory Gilmore will be easier than ever. All you have to do is visit these coffee shops in New York. What’s this all for? The Netflix November 25 release of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.

From Timeout New York:

The staff will be dressed up in full Luke’s Diner regalia from 7 am to noon, and best of all, they’ll be giving out 250 free cups of java to celebrate the highly anticipated Netflix series. There will be about 250 cafés across the country participating, too—check out the full list here.

If you weren’t able to get tickets to the Gilmore Girls festival, this is your chance to be one step closer to getting a giant mug with Lorelai and Rory IRL. It’s making us even more excited for the show’s premiere on Friday, November 25, when we’ll be in a food coma from our Thanksgiving feasts. No, we will not be leaving the couch that day.
