This Fall, a series of complimentary beer tastings will be held on Wednesday evenings at Michael Jordan’s The Steak House N.Y.C.  Join us and enjoy the change of seasons while savoring local Oktoberfest and Pumpkin Ale.

All tastings are complimentary to the public starting at 6 pm, with beer tastings paired with housemade pretzels and mustards from Chef Ted Pryor.

All are hosted by the restaurant’s favorite beer ambassadors from local Six Points Brewing Company and Blue Point Brewery.  They will offer tastings of a variety of beers that pair well not only with steak, but other seasonal steakhouse dishes.  Stop by our lounge to sample the suds on your way through Grand Central after work or before dinner.

See below for the schedule.

October 5th
Bengali Tiger IPA – An American IPA (India Pale Ale) in its hop assertiveness, but an English IPA in malt character. A rich and a deep orange, almost amber color makes this ideal for Fall.

Oct 12th
Blue Point Oktoberfest – Originally brewed in the 1800s to celebrate the betrothal of the Crown Prince of Bavaria, the tradition is kept alive by brewing Oktoberfest every fall.  The special malty amber lager is brewed in August and September then stored cold for two months to ensure its distinct smooth flavor.

Oct 19th
Sweet Action – A creamy ale made with pilsner and pale malts, hopped with only noble hops.  It’s fermented with a Belgian yeast that provides a dry spiciness. Look for a unique orange taste underneath it all and a honey sweetness.

Oct 26th
Blue Point Hoptical Illusion – Ancient Egyptians stuffed their pillows with fresh hops, believing the aroma brought on intense, vivid dreams.  Today, this classic American-style IPA features a rare hop grown exclusively on a small farm in Oregon. The delicious, resiny, citrus-burst is the “Essence of the Hop” which is balanced by a malty backbone yielding an intense, golden ale.

Nov 2nd
Brownstone –  Based upon the brownstones that have raised generations of Brooklynites and the American brown ale style,  bordering on a porter.  More roasted and chocolate than a brown ale, but less burnt and hoppy than a porter. Made from a blend of 12 different malts and a perfect way to welcome colder weather.

Nov 16th
Blue Point Pumpkin Ale – Every season has its pleasures, and Pumpkin Ale reaps all that November has to offer.  Brewed with pumpkins from only the most sincere patches, this seasonal brew is golden orange, crisp and delicious, with an innocent hint of cinnamon and nutmeg that articulates our favorite season
