What do the Village Voice, the New York Post and New York Times all agree on? THE SECRET OF ROAN INISH.

The Voice called it a “lyric romance for all the ages,” while the Times called it “wonderous.” Even Rolling Stone fell in love.

John Sayles’ quiet, beautiful film is set on the west coast of Ireland and explores the myth of “selkies” — seals that can shed their skin to become human.

This evening is brought to us by the Pioneer Street Association and Pickett Furniture. (Please be sure to thank and support our sponsors. The film series could not have happened this year without them.)

As always, come down to Valentino around 8 p.m. to get a spot; the film will roll around 8:30 p.m. We’ll have gourmet popcorn from home/made on site for just $1. (All proceeds benefit the film series.)
