Hey, who is your favorite androgynous, multi-decade, multi-genre, trailblazing, influential, possibly bisexual rock star/sex symbol? Well, we’re not really sure what you’ll say, but we feel very certain that it’s one or the other of this month’s themes: David Bowie, or the artist currently known (we think) as Prince. Between the two of them, they’ve collaborated with everyone from Kate Bush to Giorgio Moroder to Bing Crosby, tackled every genre we can think of except for polka and dubstep, and introduced more young minds to the idea of sex than you shake a stick at. BUT, which would make for a better dance party? We have no idea, but we’re going to have a blast finding out.
Head On is a monthly dance battle pitting two themes against one another. Resident DJs Brian Blackout, Spoolwork, and Lepaux will pit suffragettes against controversy, modern love against a love bizarre, Andy Warhol against Annie Christian, and “Dance, Magic Dance” against “Batdance.” And you’ll pick the winner (by dancing).
