In honor of Freddy’s Backroom Kings County Cinema Society will be presenting a trio of homemade docs, two in rough cut form. Come learn about the projects and get a glimpse of new films from Brooklyn filmmakers.

FIRST, a rough cut screening and interview footage from Battle of Brooklyn, about the fight over the Atlantic Yards development and Barclays Stadium in whose footprint Freddy’s lies. Filmmaker Michael Galinsky will be with them to introduce footage and talk about the project as a whole. (A staged “groundbreaking” for the stadium is set for Thursday, the morning after this screening, so the conversation should be interesting, if not rowdy.)

SECOND, the filmmakers behind Fit to Print, a new, in-progress documentary about the decline of the newspaper industry, will present clips from their film and give some background. Director Adam Chadwick and producer Bill Loerch will introduce. More info and updates at the filmmakers’ blog: http://fittoprintfilm.wordpress.com/

THIRD, a screening of A Hole in a Fence, (2007, 46min) a fascinating look at a peculiar abandoned lot in Red Hook.
