Shakespeare’s spirits, murderers and witches: three-Poe’s: Tell-Tale Heart, Raven and Annabelle Lee-Kafka’s Metamorphosis into a giant insect-Eliot’s Wasteland and fantastical cats-

The literary world is filled with the spooky and sinister, the mysterious and the macabre.

As the October nights get darker,
and the winds begin to chill our skulls & bones,
in the grand tradition of Halloween…

Please join the Nuclear Poets for a special night of poetry and performance art celebrating the darkness inside of us all.Candles will be lit. Pages will glow. Drinks will be served. Peanut butter cups will be devoured and pumpkins will be in attendance. Dress in Halloween garb if you’d like, or come as you are to take in the witchy words and eerie surroundings of our ultraviolet haunt.

The night will be recorded in its entirety for podcast on iTunes and http://www.nuclearpoet… (8 recordings are now live) so if you’d like to cook up something batty for the open mic and read/be recorded in the second half of the show, the theme is “I have come to _________ my Darkness.” Read on or off theme. Sign-up is at 8:00pm.

Two very talented visual artists from San Francisco will provide some enchanting sights for the night. Jasamyn Wimmer’s intense, gothic figures of anatomy will be strung around the room and Robert Hammond’s beautifully bizarre paintings will be part our first-ever digital exhibition: his work will be sent over cyberspace and projected on the walls as the show begins.

Their frightful troupe of readers for the night:

Laura “Bloodclot” Bykowski
Graham “Kooky Monster” Coppin
Alyssa “Banshee” Goldstein
Christine “Cannibal” Hamm
Jahnilli “Jack-O’-Lantern” Akbar
Steven “Six Feet Under” Merenda
Sarah “Terrify Terrify” Sarai
Gary Van “Jason” Voorhis
Aaron “Hobgoblin” Wimmer

Please come out and join. Bring your creative ‘spirit’ & love for writing and let’s venture to the dark side for a night. It’ll be a mixed bag of readings and a whole lot of fun.

Hope to see you there, spook.
