The PICTOPLASMA NYC FESTIVAL once more stages the world’s leading and largest celebration of contemporary character culture, with a dense, extended weekend program of inspiring artist presentations, conference lectures, animation festival, character walk exhibitions and performances! Join the Character Walk and discover exciting exhibitions, installations and art happenings throughout New York!

In an ongoing process, Pictoplasma keeps its beady eye out for new character-driven animation films. Big Screen Plaza presents a Best Of program with the choicest picks in an hour-long, outdoor screening on their large 30 x 16.5ft LED screen, located at the public square behind the Eventi Hotel. On weekends, the 60-minute Mini-Plasma reel runs for younger character fans. And it all kicks off with an opening party on Nov 3, 7pm.

New to the 2011 event is a vast accompanying program of partnering exhibitions, installations, performances, parties and art happenings. These CHARACTER WALK EXHIBITIONS are open from the 3rd to the 6th of November, inviting a wide, art and pop culture interested audience.
