The Midas Touch: An Olympics Dance Party

When:Friday August 10, 2012
Time:6:00pm-9:00pm
Where:Littlefield
622 Degraw Street
Brooklyn, NY 11217
Cost:$3.00 – $5.00

Do you dream of butterfly-stroking like Michael Phelps, spraining your ankle like Kerri Strug, or appearing on NBC wearing only a bikini like Misty May-Treanor? Team, THIS IS YOUR CHANCE.

Just like the Olympians at London 2012, we will be going for the gold all night long. Get down for national glory as DJs Duane Harriott (WFMU, Answering Machine), Brian Blackout (You Don’t Have to Settle), and Mister Disco (Happy House) play blocks of music from each country: Italian disco, French house, British rock, Swedish indie pop, etc. Dress up as your favorite country or favorite athlete—a fabulous prize will be awarded at midnight for best costume, and if your jodhpurs aren’t identification enough, nametags will be available at the door.

In addition to the costume contest and all-night dance party, there will be “athletic” competitions running until midnight (Greco-Roman thumb wrestling, Olympic ring hula hooping, etc.), an awarding of medals, FREE fresh-baked Olympic ring cookies, and FREE Crunch gym guest passes for the athlete in all of us.
