TV PARTY! – Freaks & Geeks

When:Monday,  November 22, 2010
Where:The Knitting Factory
361 Metropolitan Avenue
Brooklyn, NY

From The Knitting Factory:
Are you a freak or are you a geek? It doesn’t matter because all are welcome at the Knitting Factory Mondays in November for the Freaks &  Geeks TV Party. We’ll be watching the entire series over the month with themed drinks, costume contests, competitions and prizes.

Join comedians Michael Austin and Jerm Pollet, hosts of TV Party, as they celebrate Freaks and Geeks, perhaps the most unjustly canceled program ever. But, while the show only lasted one season on NBC, its contribution to the American culture has been long-lasting. F & G introduced America to James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Jason Segel, to name a few. Produced by Judd Apatow (Superbad, Knocked Up, 40 Year Old Virgin) and Mike White (Orange County, Nacho Libre, School of Rock), this is some major high quality TV and its cancellation has made it one of the world’s top cult TV shows, and one of the most requested for TV Party.

This isn’t just a night of TV at a bar, it’s a full blown TV Party! We’ll be turning the Knitting Factory into a McKinley High School lock-in and enjoying the complete series of Freaks & Geeks with…

-Test what you learned in high school with Freaks & Geeks trivia including a special Mathlete round.

-Live high school photographer to take pictures for our McKinley High School Yearbook

-Bake sale to support the McKinley High School Mathletes

-Relive your P.E. days with a dodge ball competition

-McKinley High School t-shirts! Show your school pride!

-Come dressed as your favorite character and win a prize
-Bill Haverchuck impersonator contest

-Can you tell the difference between alcoholic and non-alcholic beer? We’ll find out with a Lindsey Weir tasting challenge!

About TV Party:

Why stay at home and watch reruns on Netflix when you can go to the Knitting Factory for a TV Party? Every Monday we’ll be showing some great TV shows with some fun giveaways and themed drink specials. TV is so much better with a group of like-minded friends. TV geeks unite! We’re dedicated to our favorite shows, so many of them canceled before their time and these shows deserve to be shown on the big screen. From Secret Formula Production’s Jerm Pollet and Michael Austin – the team that brought you the Raspberry Brothers, Spoons Toons and Booze, and Sing-Alongs at Legion.

Each TV Party will honor its theme with special (and sometimes edible) treats, rare footage, trivia and quote/sing-alongs, prizes, themed drinks, live music and unexpected surprises…
