Welcome to July! In case you’re not in the know, July at Ortine will be Roald Dahl Month, oh yes. Four films from classic novels by the author, starting tonight with Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971, 100min) director Mel Stuarts glorious, fantastical, psychedelic, and decidedly creepy take on the 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Featuring the legendary performance by comedic genius Gene Wilder as the mad candyman and a mediocre performance by a young Senator Joe Lieberman as Charlie Bucket. A world of pure imagination!
