Last Fall hundreds of artists from over 70 countries submitted self-portraits to Artists Wanted’scompetition: The Power of Self. The range and depth of work was phenomenal and Judges Steve Buscemi, Chris Weitz, Helen Hsu and Sascha Lewis were challenged to select the images and stories that were most powerful. Friday, March 12th from 7 to 10 p, they will present the winners at the Openhouse Gallery in Manhattan. Please join Artist Wanted for an evening of boundless art, delicious hors d’oeuvres, complimentary wines from Bear Flag, beers from Brooklyn Brewery, beats by  DJ Kimyon and a glow in the dark fashion presentation by KRELwear.

Featuring the winner of Artists Wanted’s international art competition: The Power of Self. Cheng-Chang Wu of Nan-Tou, Taiwan relates his story through his environment. His almost anti-self portraits capture a moment of relief in a chaotic inner dialogue about his self and his nation.

Plus self-portraits from People’s Choice Winners Rebekka Guðleifsdóttir from Hafnarfjörður, Iceland and Hilary McHone from South Pasadena, CA and the top 100 artists from NYC and beyond.
