Muriel Guepin Gallery is pleased to present a group exhibition of new works by New York artists Miya Ando, Guy Stanley Philoche and Rosa Ruey entitled “Diversity in Dialogue: Three Abstract Artists” from June 3, 2010- July 11, 2010.  The show is curated in collaboration with Sandra Kamerman.
 
Three abstract artists.  Three different mediums.  Three distinct techniques.  Abstract art has its own visual language of form, color and line to create compositions which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world.
 
The three artists work in diverse ways:  Ando creates quiet, abstract, meditative environments by burning metal with fire; Philoche paints a structural grid on canvas in many painterly layers of paint to contain ethereal, ephemeral worlds and Ruey creates an alternative reality filled with objects and environments and builds up whimsical machine-like structures while transforming energy into hopeful and playful systems capturing the magic that surrounds imagination using paint, markers and collage on paper. 
 
When seen apart the works each have their own strength and command respect and leave their viewers with a sense of having been elevated to some place that opens a new window in their mind.  Together the pieces not only coexist but, they suggest a different language form, a new conversation.  A dialogue opens and a relationship begins.
