The Brool;yn Library is hosting a Free Screening of the documentary “Beyond the Bricks”.

“Beyond the Bricks” is a 30-minute documentary that addresses a critical education issue: the alarmingly consistent low performance of African-American boys in public school. Focusing primarily on schools and students in Newark, New Jersey, the issues addressed in the film are nonetheless applicable to urban areas throughout the country. Distinguished panelists will include Erich Caulfield, Senior Policy Advisor for Newark Mayor Cory Booker.
