This month is full of SCREAMS and DREAMS and… Punch?

The New York 19th Century Society would like to welcome you to our first Scream and Greet! A Halloween themed meetup!

Meet your fellow historians! Your fellow enthusiasts! Revel in ghost stories of New York City!

And enjoy as we provide you a free reading of “The Sounds of Madness,” an adaptation of three Edgar Allen Poe Short stories (Tell Tale Heart, Black Cat, and Casque of Amontillado)!

With the voice talents of:
Michael Schlapp
Noah Wesley Parks
Charlotte Raines
Leanna Renee Hieber
Azure D. Osborne-Lee
with the thanks to our spookiest madame, Ashley Rogers!

With a second reading by novelist and occultist, Kenneth Toglia!

‘The Banshee of Paradise Park’ is a Gothic historical-fiction story set in ‘the poor man’s Coney Island’, the Fort George Amusement Park in upper Manhattan. At the turn of the twentieth century, an unscrupulous manager introduces a music hall dancer to a beautiful but deadly, new dance.

Our event is free and open to the public! Dressing up is encouraged, but not required.

HOW DO I GET THERE!?

We are located at the meeting space above The Museum of the American Gangsters on 78 St marks place. Go through the gate between Theatre 80 and the William barnacle Tavern, then go up the stairs and through the door. We are on the 2nd Floor.
