From Fusicology:

Spirit purveyor Smirnoff—yes the vodka company—is stepping into the reality tv arena with its new original Centric series Master of the Mix. The series will capture seven of the world’s hottest DJs and match them in head-to-head competitions—with someone being booted out every week—until one is crowned Master of the Mix and $250,000 richer.

Home-based in a luxurious mansion in California, the series will highlight stops in Las Vegas, Miami, Los Angeles, New York, and London. The changing locales will be a proving ground of each DJs musical prowess and ability to move varying crowds. Aside from crowd response, each contestant will be judged on technical ability, track selection, and originality.

From the hosts to the contestants, the cast reads like a who’s who of music heavyweights and major party rockers. Stepping from behind the decks to host the show is super producer Just Blaze (pictured above)—who has churned out hits for Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes, Kanye West, T.I., and Mariah Carey. As if that wasn’t enough, NYC party legend and former DJ of HBO’s Def Comedy Jam Kid Capri will be serving as judge.

So who’s up to grab the title? Bronx, NY’s DJ Jazzy Joyce, DJ Mars, DJ Rap, DJ Revolution, Rich Medina, DJ Scratch, and the Grammy nominated DJ Vikter Duplaix. The sole survivor gets the title “Master of the Mix” and packs in their crate $250,000 in cash and prizes, including a personalized Smirnoff bottle. Interested? Tune in Wednesday, November 3rd at 10:30 PM for the premiere only on Centric. —Monica Williamson/Justin Dwayne Joseph
