Come out to Brooklyn For Target’s First Saturday’s at The Brooklyn Museum. Check out all of the great exhibits and the awesome party later at night. Owing to limited capacity, some programs require tickets. Free tickets are available for selected events. Please note ticket distribution times above. Members may pick up tickets from the Membership Desk beginning at 2 p.m. while supplies last.

Here is the list of scheduled events:

5 – 6 p.m. Discussion -Ed Bleiberg, curator of Egyptian Art and Lisa Bruno, conservator, discuss the process of conceptualizing, researching, and conserving the objects in To Live Forever.
Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Auditorium, 3rd Floor

5–7 p.m. Music -Arab ensemble Zikrayat combines the atmosphere of Egyptian musical cinema with the music and dance traditions of Egypt, Lebanon, and the greater Arab world.
Rubin Pavilion, 1st Floor

5–11 p.m. Object of the Month -Explore the Egyptian sculpture Pair Statue of Nebsen and Nebet-ta, the Museum’s featured object for the month of April. Use our Looking Closer guide to gain insight into the artwork.
Egyptian Galleries, 3rd Floor

6:30 p.m. Film -Academy Award–winner Departures (YojiroTakita, 2008, 130 min., PG-13, English subtitles) tells the story of a Japanese musician who becomes a mortician in a funeral home. Free tickets (330) are available at the Visitor Center at 5 p.m. Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Auditorium, 3rd Floor

6:30–8:30 p.m. Hands-On Art -Design a copper embossed amulet with Egyptian symbols. Free timed tickets are available at the Visitor Center at 5:30 p.m. Education Gallery, 1st Floor

7 p.m. Curator Talk -Edward Bleiberg, curator of To Live Forever, speaks about the exhibition. A catalogue signing follows. Sign Language interpreted. Free tickets (30) are available at the Visitor Center at 6 p.m.

8 p.m. Young Voices Gallery Talk -Student Guides give a talk on the afterlife in ancient Egypt.
Egyptian Galleries, 3rd Floor

9–10 p.m. Book Club -Author Joshua Cohen discusses his book A Heaven of Others, a poetic dream-world novel about a Jewish boy who ends up in Muslim heaven. The book is available for purchase from the Museum Shop.
Islamic Galleries, 2nd Floor

9–11 p.m. Dance Party -DJ Nickodemus and the Spy from Cairo host an Egyptian-inspired funk and Afrobeat dance party. Beaux-Arts Court, 3rd Floor
