From Secret Formula:

Hey, you got a video you love to show your friends? A short film you’re dying to screen to the public? An unreleased celebrity sex tape? NYC is full of brilliant comedians making short film sketches, video collectors who cherish hilariously strange VHS oddities, and a bunch of other people with a video camera or computer and a lot of time on their hands…so we’re inviting them all to bring their footage to the Bell House for a battle royale on the big screen.

Like open mic night for film lovers, you’re invited to bring in a VHS tape, DVD or CD with video file on it and we will screen it in all its glory (or awfulness) movie theater style. It could be a skit you did with your improv troupe, a home movie you made when you were a kid, and obscure video you found on the internet, your animated short film, a documentary you made about the fry cook at McDonald’s, some insane stuff you found in the video bin at Goodwill, an employee training video for an industrial steel fabricator, the sky’s the limit….

Only two rules to play! First, it’s got to be under 10 minutes (that or we cut it off at the 10 minute mark). Second, if after 2 minutes’ time the audience gets bored, and the appointed gong-master smacks his cymbal, the video gets turned off. So, keep it entertaining to keep us watching!

If you bring a video the show is free of charge! After all videos have been screened, the audience will vote and crown a winner, who can earn up to $100 in prize money and other prizes!
