Singer, choral conductor, teacher, and musicologist, the late Louvinia Pointer committed herself to the revival and preservation of the “Negro Spiritual” through the Great Day Chorale, which she founded and led for 20 years. Join members of the Chorale as they share memories of Mrs. Pointer and the music they sang, which revealed the qualities that enabled enslaved Americans to endure extreme cruelty with faith and perseverance.
